Fun Filled Days

Well, this week went by pretty slow. We woke up to snow this week and now we have perfect weather for sitting outside and enjoying the day.

Tim and I spent the afternoon doing some landscaping for dad. He doesn't have much to do but it hasn't been done for a couple years so we had to dig through a lot of dead stuff. After that we came home and planted some more grass. We have a lot of space to fill so we decided we'd put grass or clover in low traffic areas. We will also be redoing the back yard next week end so the dogs won't have full access to the whole thing. We will then plant grass. It's much cheaper then bringing in rock. We will be putting in other ground cover next week end; cedar chips or cocoa pods. This year shoudn't be as hard. Last year we planted a lot of flowers that would come back year to year.

We are still figuring out our hard wood floor project. I have a lot of samples but just haven't found one that really speaks to me. I do keep coming back to bamboo though. There never seems to be a lack of things to do.

Well, that's about it from these parts. Nothing profound but it is what it is.

Just Another Day in the Woods

Well, the weather is amazing right now. It's quite a bit cooler at our house then it is in town. We are expecting rain tonight, just enough so I don't need to water.
Randy and his wife are coming up this week end to go gold panning. He and Tim will find some great places, I'm sure.
Chris is in Reno this week to play at the college. He is competing with a small group jazz combo. His time slot is 8:00 am so we won't be going to hear him play but I'm sure he'll do great.
Nathan is really excelling on the guitar. He is now practicing the bass also. He is thinking about being in band next year but we'll have to wait and see what the program looks like next year.

There's nothing else going on except for the same old work, clean, study, and sleep. Nathan and I do go out to breakfast before school so I can hear about what's new with him at school. Believe it or not the guys got a girlfriend. They are going to the semi-formal this week end (Jr. high Prom I hear) She a nice girl. I have to chaperon (as one of my many teacher duties) and Nathan isn't too thrilled about that.

Well, now you've read about another not so interesting day with us forest folk. Stay safe and always remember why you do what you do and who you do it for.

Another Warm Weekend

Well, the heat has finally come to our neck of the woods. Of course, the weather is suppose to turn cold again by the middle of the week.
Tim and I spent the afternoon doing some landscaping for Dad. We got some fencing, Iris's, Ivy, Spearmint, and some other bulb plant that I can't remember the name of. When we got home we planted everything so hopefully it will all survive our efforts.

School starts up again tomorrow so it's back to work for me; eight weeks of school left. Tim has jury duty Wednesday, which he loves doing. I can't recall any trials coming up so not real sure what he will be doing. Most of the time the trial is cancelled.

Tah Tah for now.

The Day After

Well, we survived the Easter get together. It turned out to be a great day and the kids were able to hunt eggs. Tim and Chris played the Easter Bunny and hid the eggs. Everyone brought something to contribute to the meal so I didn't have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Chris, Holly, and I went to lunch today . This was great because I got to sit and talk to them both which is always a pleasure, especially since Holly can tell me what is on their performance schedule. Later, Nathan and I planted some more clover. The flowers are starting to sprout, hopefully they will be in full bloom by May. Tomorrow I get to have lunch with all the kids, before Mike and Carina head to Santa Cruz. Unfortunately, Tim has to work.

This week end we will be moving piles of leaves to the community burn pit. Randy and Roxanne will be bringing a truck up and helping us out. We have stuff from last year so it will take awhile but I think it will be fun. (it hadn't been raked up the year before so there was two years worth)We really enjoy spending time with everyone.

Easter is here

Well, Easter is finally here and with that comes a week off from school. I will be looking forward to getting outside and reading a book that has nothing to do with teaching me something.

We were busy today buying wildflowers and garden soil. We were planning on planting today but thought better of it when we remembered we have 15 people coming out for Easter dinner. Egg hunts tend to require a lot of walking through every thing by children.

Chris has bought his airline tickets to Ireland, and Holly's. He has also bought his Euro. They are really getting excited, in their own calm way. They have had to change some of their routing a little because of transportation issues while there.

Everyone else is about the same these days. School and such are the same.

Tim got his 1 year raise so that was nice. It's nice to have him in a job that actually does that sort of thing.

Another Great Week-end

Well, the sun is out and Tim is busy in the yard while I get on the computer to write yet another paper and post a dozen class discussions and replies.

Everyone is doing well. Tim has lost 43 pounds and has reached his goal weight. He feels better and is looking forward to going hiking this summer. He will be doing a 5K bike ride soon. He will be riding with some of his co-workers.

Chris is almost to his financial goal for his trip to Ireland. He will be buying their airline tickets tomorrow (Monday) which will make the trip seem more of a reality. They are still figuring out the transportation while they're there because they are too young to rent a car. I think they will get plenty of exercise while they are there.

Mike and his wife are great. We all went to the shooting range yesterday. I had a great time watching Mike shoot. He is quite good.

Nathan is out helping tim with yard work. He is still doing well in school but looking forward to vacation after next week. He has gotten really good at playing the guitar. He is thinking about joining the band next year. He will have to work on reading music now.

I am still plugging along with school and work. We are in our last quarter and the students are looking forward to school being out; nine weeks left.

Well, off to meeting my deadlines.
